MUNICIPALITY VUKOSAVLJE

History
The municipality of Vukosavlje was formed in 1994 encompasing the area of today Odzak municipality; however the area and borders of today Vukosavlje municipality were set by the Dayton Peace Accord. One part of the area of the pre-war municipality of Odzak, named Vukosavlje during the war time, was divided into two parts: one within the Federation of BiH retained the pre-war name Odzak and the other part named Vukosavlje belong to the Republika Srpska entity.

Geographical Settlement  [Top]
The municipality of Vukosavlje is located in the north part of Republika Srpska and BiH. To the north it borders with municipality of Odzak, Federation of BiH, with municipality of Modrica to the east and southeast and with Bosanski Brod to the southwest. It is located in the proximity of important road intersection called Jakesnica, the place where roads connecting Bosanski Samac and Odzak (only 4km away from Vukosavlje) with Croatian border cross with the road running to Doboj (42 km from crossing) and further to central Bosnia, and with the road that, through Derventa, runs to Banjaluka. Through Modrica, which is only 2 km away, Vukosavlje is connected with Gradacac and Tuzla.

Infrastructure  [Top]
Road infrastructure is in rather good condition and the whole area of municipality is covered with electricity and PTT network. At present, municipality is preparing spatial and regulatory plans and water supply and distribution project to cover the whole area.

Investment locations  [Top]
There are potentials for investments in the exploitation of limestone deposits /quarries for the production of slaked lime and quartz sand, in the villages of Pecnik and Gnionica. Apart from mineral resources, there are potentials for investments in grain milling and processing, construction and wood processing industry. Investment locations include available public construction land in municipal ownership and the "Dom"( Public Center) building that is not in use and needs reconstruction.
